Well I hope everyone has enjoyed this fine weather while it has lasted. I am sure the wildlife have benefited. And the leaves on the trees and plant life is coming along in leaps, it's nice to see the greenery.
The Dippers have gone out of sight for the time being so will update the Dipper page as and when they reappear.
I managed a few pics over the last few days but haven't walked much in this heat as it does not agree with me much at all.
Mr Mallard soaking up the sun.
Collard Dove.
Chaffinch finding some shade out of the heat.
A very charming and curios Blue Tit.
The Cabbage White Butterfly atop a pretty yellow Dandelion.
Well today has been a garden day what with the weather and other things to get done.
I have recently added a pond like Birdbath to the Garden as I have been making it as bird friendly as possible.
I was given a preformed pond liner, so sank it into the ground halfway and filled it up with upturned plant pots, then covered them in large flat stones to hold them down, then a good layer of medium and small pebbles and a few medium rocks for around the edge then filled with water. And it has turned out just nicely and the birds have made use of it already as the following photographs ad video show.
Cute little Robin
And a nice little video clip.
Since Im confined to the garden at times I have decided to make a dedicated page of it's own.
Having seen the Sparrow fledgelings on the River yesterday I new it would not be long before seeing them in the garden and low and behold the very next day they began to arrive, so I have been out there taking pics and video. They are so cute I can't help myself. So bare with me until I get the page sorted should be up late afternoon early evening.
Again yesterday, I think he likes it.
